In recent years, many Nintendo games have launched LEGO versions, such as Mario and Donkey Kong. As for fans of the Legend of Zelda series, they have been eagerly awaiting the release of a LEGO version.
This year, LEGO officially recreated two versions of the Great Deku Tree from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild for the first time.
As dedicated fans of the Zelda series and the designers of this BrickBling-compatible LEGO Zelda series lighting kit, Ethan and Lily share their thoughts and inspiration for designing the lights for this kit.
Dreams of Youth, Courage to Move Forward
"I've always been waiting for LEGO to release a Zelda series kit. Brave Link embarks on an unknown adventure and, alongside Princess Zelda, saves the land of Hyrule. Many of these scenes filled with courage and warmth are my childhood dreams!" said Ethan, bursting with excitement as he reminisced about Ocarina of Time.
"Back in high school, discussing Zelda puzzles and game strategies was a daily topic among my classmates," said Lily. Compared to Ethan’s love for the characters, Lily is more focused on the gaming experience. "The expansive world of Zelda deeply captivated me, and I felt a need to complete every main quest perfectly."
Guardian of the Kokiri Forest
This LEGO collaboration with Nintendo features a dual-mode Great Deku Tree-themed set. Many of the details reflect the essence of the land of Hyrule, such as grasslands, mushrooms, radishes, and the legendary Master Sword. Lily's task was to illuminate these elements to showcase the essence of the Kokiri Forest.
The main figure, the Great Deku Tree, is a recurring character who serves as the guardian of the Kokiri Forest, protecting it from evil forces.
Ethan insists that the lighting kit's design should highlight the beauty of the Kokiri Forest as a home. It is, after all, where Link was born and where dreams began.
Additionally, the Great Deku Tree, the guardian of the Kokiri Forest, provides shelter to the forest’s spirits. It symbolizes wisdom and magic, like a learned elder. BrickBling's lighting kit needed to convey this sense of warmth and power.
The long wait has been worth it. Once illuminated, the Great Deku Tree-themed set takes us back to the days of adventure in Hyrule. The detailed design makes us even more excited for future LEGO Zelda sets.
At the end of our interview, Ethan exclaimed with excitement: "I'm ready to light up the next Zelda set!"
