In recent years, LEGO has continuously launched themed kits of classic movies and animations, allowing fans to relive these unforgettable works with building blocks. For fans of Disney and Tim Burton, "The Nightmare Before Christmas" is undoubtedly a masterpiece that cannot be missed, and the LEGO version of the kit fully demonstrates the fantasy world of this movie.
As loyal fans of "The Nightmare Before Christmas", César Soares and Laura Perron, designers of this LEGO Disney Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas, shared their design inspiration and experience with us.
The first presentation of the wonderful world
"I am a die-hard fan of this movie," designer César Soares said excitedly. "I've lost count of how many times I've seen it!" Designer Laura Perron added: "I was too scared to watch this movie as a kid, but when I finally got up the courage to see it, I was immediately drawn to its unique style and atmosphere." Both designers knew that capturing this unique style was crucial. César Soares explained that they watched the movie over and over again to capture every detail. And Laura added that it wasn't just a matter of watching the movie a few times, but also referring to fan feedback, studying key scenes, and consulting behind-the-scenes pictures and production photos to ensure accurate restoration of scenes and layouts.
Jack Skellington's Adventure
In collaboration with Disney, LEGO has perfectly recreated classic scenes from The Nightmare Before Christmas through this set, such as Jack's home in Halloweentown and the Christmastown he accidentally enters. LEGO's design brings these scenes to new life.
This beautiful set consists of 2,193 parts, including three iconic buildings: Spiral Mountain, Halloween Town Hall and Jack Skellington's house. The non-mainstream architectural style and curved lines perfectly match the film's strong black humor and Gothic style, and Tim Burton's childlike personal style is revealed everywhere.
The set also includes six mini figures, the most memorable of which is of course Jack Skellington. As the protagonist of the story, he has distinctive features and is deeply loved by monsters, but he suffers from loneliness and confusion deep in his heart. Jack is like a melancholy poet, longing for a life that is completely different from the evil style of Halloween Village.
Building this building block set will undoubtedly bring a great sense of accomplishment, but it should be noted that some components are relatively loose, so you need to be extra careful when building to avoid falling apart.
Relive Tim Burton's animated classics
With this building block set, fans can relive the story of Jack the Pumpkin King kidnapping "Sandy Claus". The story is adapted from Tim Burton's classic stop-motion animation "The Nightmare Before Christmas".
The animation mainly tells the story of Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King of Halloween Town, who is tired of the same old Halloween every year and longs for new experiences. During an expedition, he accidentally discovered Christmas Town and was attracted by the joyful atmosphere there. Jack decided to bring Christmas back to Halloween Town, but due to a misunderstanding, he kidnapped Santa Claus and asked the monsters to make horrible gifts, which eventually turned Christmas into another horror festival. In the end, Jack realized his mistake, rescued Santa Claus, restored the joy of Christmas, and found Sally who understood him, returning to his true self.
The long wait finally paid off. When the theme set of "The Nightmare Before Christmas" was presented to us, we seemed to return to that magical world. Every detail is full of magic, and the lights inject vitality into these scenes. We are even more looking forward to LEGO launching more classic movie-themed kits in the future to bring us more surprises and memories.
