What’s the difference between the classic version and the remote control version, colorful version?
Both the Classic Version and the Remote Control Version offer the same rich and immersive lighting effects. The key difference is that the Remote Control Version allows you to switch between lighting modes, adjust brightness, and turn the lights on or off from a distance, making it more convenient and enjoyable to use.
The remote control uses infrared sensing technology with a control range of up to 10 meters. It is powered by a CR2032 battery.
Compared to the Classic and Remote Control versions, the Colorful Version lighting kit features richer, more realistic lighting effects, richer colors, and more distinct layers. With a multi-color, variable RGB lighting system, you can switch between different lighting colors and modes, allowing you to create a variety of festive atmospheres and visual experiences, from warm and cozy glow to a dreamy, vibrant glow.

As an 81yr old Lego fanatic I struggled to set up the lights. However I persevered and was so surprised when they worked. I bought the remote control version and well worth the extra. The lights make the tree look amazing.

The set came on time, and since it was a gift, I didn't open it ahead of time, so we didn't have on hand the button batteries it needed (I thought from the description that I would need AAA). The installation video was over an hour long and so my (adult) kids didn't have the patience to put it together. We'll get the batteries and try another time, but meanwhile, if you are planning on using this anytime soon, get your batteries and prewatch the video so you can help your kids get it working.
Wish they would have told me how long it would take to receive it. I still don’t have the light set and I ordered it on Black Friday, it’s now Dec22. I also got the Christmas tree light set. Would have been nice to build it in December. As it is I probably won’t get it until after the new year if I get it at all.

Took ages to connect up and it means you now cannot easily split the model for storage as Lego intended. Finished tree does look amazing lit up. Surprised it needs 2 remote controls.
Thoughtful touches like having a notch where wires can go so that they're not pinched, plus clear and easy to understand instructions. 5 stars!
Put these on the new Lego Christmas tree and what a difference it made it look like in appearance 100% better.
When it came to the build some of the light cords were on the short side making them subject to pulling out with much movement. The lights to the star in particular and a few others.
As to the design, I would like to see more small lights lite up.

I couldn't get the USB adapter to work with my portable power pack. Any thoughts on that?

What a well packed parcel containing such delights. I may need to take a degree in Electrical Engineering to complete the project but the instructions look very clear and are well set out.
